Cold. That's what you felt at the moment, enveloping your body. Pain. That's what was radiating through your body, especially through your head. Confusion. You weren't sure why you felt like this, but you were determined to find out why. You slowly allowed your eyes to flutter open, examining your surroundings. Even your eyes were in pain but you forced them open. What you saw made you panic.
'This isn't Arthur's cabin!' you thought frantically as your wide eyes scanned your new surroundings.
'Where am I?!' you thought frantically. Nothing was right. The room you were in looked disheveled and dirty. Definitely not something Arthur would allow. It was all made out of dark colored wood, which gave the already eerie room an eerier feel to it. The windows were dusted with dirt and barely allowed any light to trickle through, only allowing you to see a little bit. Only one thought was coming to your mind at this point.
'I've got to get out of here.' So, acting on impulse, you stood up to high tail it out of there. But…unfortunately something restricting your left wrist stopped you from being able to walk any further.
"Huh?" you said aloud, you looked down to see that, what looked like, a handcuff attached to you. You furrowed your brows and pulled your left arm up, only to find that it was attached to a chain, hooked onto the floor.
"What the-" you were too distracted by your restricted arm to notice someone else in the room. A low chuckle quickly alerted you of this.
"Pull all you hwant chica. Chour not going anywhere." said an unfamiliar voice. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion and slowly turned your head to this new voice.
'Oh crap.' you thought. You didn't know this person. Stranger danger! Who is this guy? And why are you chained to the floor? And why does your head hurt? And why are you asking yourself so many questions?!
"Who….who are you?!" you asked, confusion clear in your voice. The man in front of you just chuckled again and started walking towards you. As he came closer his features became clearer to you. He had tanned skin, just like Antonio. Except his eyes…they looked almost black. It gave him a intimidating look. To match his black eyes he wore all black. Black boots, black pants, black coat, black shirt and a black hat. You took a wild guess at what his favorite color was. The stubble on his chin reminded you of Francis. You just hopped that he wasn't as perverted as Francis.
He smirked at you as he came closer. You narrowed your eyes at him.
"Look if this is some sort of a joke Arthur-" you started to say but he cut you off with a loud laugh.
"Arthur? That lil brat! I assure chu chica this is not a choke." he said, stopping in front of you, looking you up and down while smirking again. Your eye twitched.
'Oh god. Don't tell me he's worse the Francis!' you thought to yourself. You didn't like this guy already. At least Francis had the decency to check you out while you weren't looking. How do you know this? You caught him once. You narrowed your eyes at him when you felt his eyes stop on your, er, upper womanly assets. You pointed your finger in his face.
"Look pal! I don't know who you think you are!-" you started ranting at him but he cut you off again. How rude.
"-But of course niña. How rude of me." he said, taking his hat off and bowing slightly.
"I am Ricardo Cruz. Captain of the Puerta del Infierno." he said, grinning at you, showing off his unkempt teeth. Then it hit you.
'Wait…d-did he just say…Cruz?! Oh son of a-'
Well that explained your whole situation here. The reason why you blacked out, it was probably his doing. The reason your head hurt, well he hit you over the head so that was his fault too. But wait. This was the same man that Arthur was hunting down?
"Did you say…Cruz?" you asked, eyeing him suspiciously. He chuckled and placed his hat back on his head, standing up straight. Man he was tall. Taller then Arthur. Super.
"Si senorita. Chu've heard of me I take it? Not that it surprises me. Eventually-" he said, leaning down close to you, your noses almost touching each other. "-everyone knows about me." The smell of alcohol came wafting to your nose. Killing your brain cells. You would have gagged but you decided against it. What little you knew about this man…well… you wanted to be safe. Sort of. You crossed your arms as best as you could. Considering your confined arm.
"That's nice." you said, sounding like none of this bothered you. "Now let me go." He started chuckling at you, then it turned into a full blown laugh. Rolling his head back like this whole situation was hilarious. Oh yeah, its all laughs here. Well at least he wasn't all in your face anymore.
"N-No chica. I'm afraid I can't do that. I need to keep you here to lure that brat." he said, crossing his arms. You cocked an eyebrow.
"And what makes you think that will work?" you asked sassily. He smirked at you and scratched his chin.
"Oh it will. I saw the hway he held onto you at the docks and how protective he hwas when one of my men tried taking you." he said, grinning and chuckling at the same time. Wait…he was following you guys the whole time? Oh crap! What if he heard about your plans?! Oh this is bad. This is bad. This is so very bad!
"So…you were following us this whole time?" you asked, trying not to let the worry that consumed you leak out into your voice. He smirked and nodded.
"And the brat never knew! Some Pirate he is. Pathetic. Just like his papa." he said so nonchalantly. This made you eye twitch again. How dare he talk about Arthur that way!
"Hey! You can't just talk about Arthur's father like that!" you started to shout at him, but all he did was laugh at you. Almost like your rant was amusing. Which it wasn't!
"Save chour breath woman. There's no use in trying to defend your little pretty boy. Bah. Chu should be with a real man." he said, sounding cocky and oh so arrogant. This just made you want to shoot his ego down all the more.
"Well when you find a real man, let me know." you said, smirking yourself. Within seconds his expression changed from a cocky grin to a dark and dangerous scowl. It made a shiver go up your spine. His boots made loud thumps against the wooden floor as he started coming closer to you, and you felt the sudden urge to back up. And back up you did. But unfortunately for you there was a wall stopping further movements. Stupid conveniently placed wall. So now here you found yourself in a…less the desirable situation. You were now backed up against a wall with some crazy Cuban psycho staring you down with the deadliest stare you had seen in a long time.
"Hwhat did chu say?" he said in a low quiet tone. It may have been quiet but it was terrifying to say the least. You looked up at him, locking your (e/c) eyes with his dark brown ones. Hoping that any fear on your face decided to take a hike for the time being. You had to stay strong. You wouldn't let him intimidate you…even though he secretly did. But you couldn't let that show.
"You heard me." you said calmly. Hoping your voice matched your demeanor. But then he cracked a smile. Something you were NOT expecting. The sudden change in attitude worried you a bit. So much so that you involuntarily looked away from him. It was starting to creep you out. A lot.
"Chour funny chica." he said, grabbing your chin with his rough gloved hand and forcing you to look back at him completely.
"Now chu be a good hwoman and do as I say" he said, tilting his head to the side.
"And I might not hurt chour pretty little face. Comprende?" Ugh! You hated this! Him getting his grubby hands all over you. Back off!.
"Hands off pal!" you said sharply, smacking his hand away from your face. You took no crap from anyone and this guy was no exception. Not to mention he was practically hitting on you and he looked to be ten years older then you…maybe more. Gross.
Suddenly he grabbed the back of your hair and yanked on it, causing you to yell out in pain, grabbing onto his hand and trying to pry his stupid hand off of your hair. To no avail. You bit your lip to try and keep yourself under control. He then got really close to your face. Too close for comfort. In fact. Any amount would be too close for comfort.
"If I hwere chu I'd be more careful how you speak to me." he said quietly. His hot breath was like fire against your ear. You grunted as his grip on your hair tightened.
"Bite me." you said through clenched teeth. He chuckled at this, seeming amused by your stubbornness.
"Later." he said, yanking you to the floor by your hair. You landed with a 'Thud.'. Hitting the back of your head on the wall. Once his grip was gone you grabbed the back of your head and rubbed it. Muttering an 'ow' before glaring back up at him again. He smirked at you and started walking away. You looked at your left wrist and wondered if you could somehow get the cuff off of your wrist and……wait a minute.
"Where is my bracelet?!" you shouted, noticing that your bracelet, your prized possession and only way home was now MISSING! You heard Cruz chuckle as he placed his hand on the doorknob.
"I took it. Hwhat of it?" he said in a tone that irritated you. You glared at him and quickly rose to your feet, charging at him only to be pulled back by the stupid chain that tied you to the floor.
"Give it back you jerk!" you yelled, furry and rage evident on your features. If looks could kill. Well lets just say he wouldn't be standing at the moment. Unfortunately he didn't falter.
"No. Its obviously important to you so I hwill hang onto it." he said, that same smug grin plastered on his stupid face. You yelled in frustration, charging at him only to be yanked back by the chain.
"GIVE IT BACK!!" you yelled with all your might. He just laughed and opened the door, closing it without even giving you a response. Oh this ticked you off to no end. You had to get out of here! You had to get your bracelet back and you had to get off of this ship before Ricky Ricardo decided to get a little too friendly with you. No way in Hades were you going to get violated while you were here. Not today! Not ever!
"I-Is he gone?" came a quiet voice. It made you jump and spin around, looking for the owner of this voice.
"I-I'm down here." it said again. You looked down to see a boy sitting on the floor, not too far from where you were placed. You calmed down a bit and furrowed your brows.
"You look familiar…." you said, trailing off in thought. If you didn't know any better you'd say he looked like Francis- wait.
"What…what's your name?" you asked, tilting your head to the side. The shy boy didn't look up at you, he kept his face tucked into his arms.
"M-Mathieu." He said in a hushed voice. Your eyes widened as realization dawned on you.
"Your Francis' little brother!" you exclaimed. This caused the boy to pull his face away from his arms and look up at you.
"Y-You know my brother?!" he said, shock and hope both radiating from his voice. Before you could say anything a gasp escaped from your mouth, causing you to cover it with your hand. You saw the bruises on the poor boys face. It broke your heart. He seemed so shy and fragile and yet here he was, beaten and bruised. Your expression caused him to hide his face again.
"I-I want my brother." he said, voice muffled by his arms. You furrowed your brows in pity for the poor boy. You sighed and kneeled down next to him, gently brushing his hair away from his face. He flinched at your touch.
"P-Please don't hurt me!" he said in a hushed yet terrified whisper. You were appalled by the mere thought of hurting him! You gently took his trembling face in your hands and slowly lifted his face to meet yours. Tears were brimming in his soft lavender eyes. At making eye contact with you he quickly closed his eyes. You smiled at him and gently brushed away his tears with your thumbs.
"I would never hurt you Mathieu." you said in a soft kind voice. This caused him to gingerly open his eyes to look at you.
"Y-You wont?" he asked. You nodded. "Y-ou p-romise?" he asked again, sniffing a bit. You smiled sweetly at him and nodded again.
"I promise. Actually I was going to help your brother get you back." you said. At hearing this his eyes light up.
"S-So big brother is coming to get me?!" he asked, sounding and looking hopeful. You giggled softly and nodded.
"Yup! Finding you was the hard part." you said, removing your hands from his face. "Now all we have to do is get out of this place." you said. At hearing this Mathieu's face dropped.
"That's impossible…I-if we try to escape h-he'll catch us and h-hurt us." he said in a hushed voice. You sighed and caressed his face affectionately.
"Don't you worry about that part. Just leave it to me. I'll get us out of this. I promise." you said with a warm smile across your face. Mathieu looked back at you, a worried expression on his face.
"B-But!-" you cut him off by placing your finger over his trembling lips.
"Shhh. I said don't worry about it. I have a few tricks up my sleeve." you said, giving him a wink. He still looked unsure but somehow knew that arguing with you would be pointless. As long as he had some other kind soul with him aboard this evil ship, he would feel a little bit better. He nodded to you, showing you that he understood. Though in reality he didn't understand one bit how you were going to get the two of you off of the ship when you were chained to the floor.
'I hope you know what your getting yourself into.' he thought as he watched you look around the room in thought.
"Heh heh….oh please. Stop your majesty. Your such a tease." Arthur mumbled in his sleep, giggling in the process. Smiling and looking happy and peaceful with his hair tousled in front of his sleeping face. Why was he so happy? Lets just say that in his dream this 'majesty' was replaced by a certain someone he knew.
"Mmm Yes I'd love another scone." he muttered, rolling over as he clutched a pillow to his chest, hugging it like a child would a teddy bear.
"How…delightful." he mumbled, sighing happily. Francis stood by Arthur's bed. Shaking his head and chuckling with his arms at his side.
"So much better when you sleep. Because your mouth is shut most of the time." he said, chuckling again as he leaned in closer to Arthur's bed.
"You look lovely." he muttered dreamily again, tangling himself up in his bed sheets.
"Arthur!" Francis shouted, waking the Brit up quickly.
"God save the queen!" Arthur yelled, sitting upright in bed, knife pulled out from his belt and held in front of him. He blinked a few times in confusion, furrowing his brows.
'I was dreaming?' he thought, clearing his vision. He then heard someone laugh beside him. Turning his head slowly he saw. Non other then Francis.
"Gah! Francis! What are you doing here!?" he shouted in surprise, jumping a bit. He wasn't expecting Francis to be waking him up this morning. (Name) most likely, but certainly not Francis. As soon as reality set in he clutched his head with his other hand and groaned.
"Guuuu….what happened last night Francis?" he said, groaning from the hangover he now had. Francis chuckled softly at his English friend.
"Well-" he started to say but stopped when Arthur covered his ears.
"Not so loud!" he whined, squinting his eyes shut. Poor guy. Francis smirked at him.
"Light weight." he said softly. Arthur scowled at him.
"Shut it frog. Now tell me what happened." he said, laying back down on his bed and covering his face with one of his pillows to make the lights shut up. Francis sighed and twirled his ponytail in his hand.
"Well." he said again. "After you got back from ze ship you started drinking. And zen you started singing. And zen you left for a while. Zen you came back and drank some more. Zen-" Arthur cut him off.
"I get it. I get it! I was a drunken fool last night!" he said, voice muffled through the pillow. He sighed. Hoping he didn't make a fool of himself in front of you. That would be terrible. He furrowed his brows a bit.
"I hope (Name) didn't see me like that." he said in a muffled voice. Francis chuckled a bit and sat on the edge of his bed.
"Well as far as I know she stayed on ze ship after cleaning your wound up." he said, looking out the window.
"Fantastic." Arthur said. Feeling relieved at this. Truth be told, he didn't remember anything after you cleaned up his lip so he had to take Francis' word for it.
"Where is she?" Arthur asked. Francis shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know. I 'aven't seen 'er since yesterday." he said, not thinking much of it. Arthur furrowed his brows again and slightly lifted the pillow off of his face, looking at Francis.
"What do you mean you haven't seen her since yesterday?" he asked. Francis looked at Arthur.
"I mean I 'aven't seen 'er since yesterday." he repeated. Arthur looked at Francis in confusion.
"But… surly you saw her this morning?" he said. When Francis shook his head Arthur sat upright in bed and looked around. The first place he looked was the couch. You weren't there. This worried him a bit. Where could you be?
"Francis are you telling me you don't know where she is?" Arthur asked in a serious tone, looking at the Frenchman with hard eyes. Francis nodded.
"She did not tell you where she would be?" Francis asked, getting slightly concerned as well. Arthur jumped out of bed but soon sat down again as a wave of pain hit his head. He grunted.
"N-No. She didn't. Blast it I don't remember anything from last night!" he said, trying to wrap his brain around what could have happened to you. Francis looked around and stopped when he saw Arthur's desk. He furrowed his thin eyebrows and stood up.
"Mon ami. Look." he said, pointing to his desk. Arthur managed to slowly lift his head enough to see a dagger stuck in his desk.
'I don't remember doing that.' he thought. Francis walked over to it quickly to inspect it. Once he did he gasped, a look of horror on his face.
"What is it?!" Arthur asked. Francis slowly reached for the dagger and pulled it out of the wooden desk, unpinning the letter that was stuck by it.
"Mon ami…..I zink you should take a look at zis." he said, taking the letter in his hands and walking over to Arthur, holding it out for him. Arthur groaned and ripped the letter from Francis' hand, looking it over. As his green hazy eyes scanned the letter, his eyes widened and he sobered up real quick.
"I'LL KILL THAT SWINE!" he shouted, quickly rising to his feet. Letter clenched in his fist and a look of pure maliciousness now painted on his face. Francis knew that look. And he knew what Arthur was thinking.
"Now now mon ami. Calm down. We can't be rash about zis." he said, holding his hands up and trying to calm the furious Brit down. Arthur snapped his head in Francis' direction.
"I'll be as rash as I want! He's taken (name) and you expect me to calm down!?!" he shouted, not giving any care to the pain in his head. Because the pain in his heart was now much greater.
"I understand mon ami-" he started to say but Arthur cut him off quickly.
"No! You don't understand! Because you've never had someone you care about taken from you!" he yelled. As soon as he realized what he had said be covered his mouth quickly. Eyes wide and his face was flushed. Francis looked at Arthur in surprise, mouth slightly agape. Sure he had teased him about liking (Name). But he never imagined that he would openly admit it like that. Arthur was much more reserved then that.
"Mon ami….you love 'er?" he asked, making sure he understood what the man in front of him had said correctly. Arthur looked at Francis in embarrassment. Pink dusting his cheeks. "Th-That's not what I said….And that's not what I meant!" he said in defense. Francis smiled at his friend in a kind manner. 'Looks like little Arthur 'as finally grown up' he thought to himself.
"Of course mon ami. I misunderstood you." he said, bowing his head slightly to him. Arthur clenched his fist in frustration at himself.
"We have to find her." he said after a minute of silence. Francis nodded in agreement.
"Oui I agree. But we must be careful. Knowing Cruz, 'e probably took 'er to lure you mon ami. If we go after 'im in a front on attack we'll be falling into 'is trap." he said, adjusting his black gloves. Arthur growled in frustration.
"Blast it!…your right….we have to find another way." he muttered, looking off to the side. Arthur was thinking frantically of where you could be. He had to search all over. It was decided. He turned to Francis with a severe look on his face. The face Francis knew was genuine this time instead of put on just to put fear in the crew. His face was hard and free of any pleasant emotions. Eyes getting darker by the second and if looks could kill, Francis would be dead ten times over by now.
"Gather up every able bodied man on this vessel together. I'm calling an assembly."
